Stable Lights - Recent Projects

Recent projects :

Leicestershire - October 2007

Installation of solar powered lighting system including two exterior lights and one internal light at a new barn on a small holding in Leicestershire.

.External View of Shed

External view showing south facing solar panel, and two 12 volt, low energy CFL 10 watt 'floodlights' (one light by panel and one on this corner).

These external lights are fine for background lighting to see for shutting up the chickens and alike. Brighter 16 watt versions are also available. They are totally weatherproof (using IP44 halogen floodlight casings) and direct the light very well. We have these specially made and they are exclusively available from us!

Battery and wiring

Here we have the battery, charge controller and some of the lighting system wiring. You can also see the 12 volt, low energy 16 watt interior light at the top of the picture and in the picture below.

The 16 watt interior light does an excellent job of lighting the whole of the inside of the barn.

Switches mounted by the door into the shed for convenience.

The barn in it's setting. Despite it's proximity to mains power lines, the cost of installing a mains supply was prohibitive. Now the owners have a solar powered lighting system that is reliable and effective. Ideal for routine tasks in the winter and peace of mind that light is available in the event of an emergency concerning their livestock.

If you need power or light in a remote location why not get in touch to see if we can help, or if you fancy having a go at the job yourself take a look at our DIY Solar Mate lighting kits in the online shop. Either way, we are always happy to offer friendly help and advice.
