Owl +USB offers detailed historical data and now features average readings either daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly, plus a 2 year rolling history storage capacity.

How does it work?

The clip-on sensor attaches easily around the insulated live supply cable at your electricity meter and sends a wireless signal via the transmitter to the display unit. The display unit can be mounted up to 30m away from the transmitter. The Sensor monitors current flowing into your home and this data is used by the display unit to calulate your electricity use in kW, £ and kg of greenhouse gas emissions.

The display unit stores up to 2 rolling years of historical data and this data is transferred to your PC whenever the two are linked by the USB cable supplied. The USB cable does not have to be left permanently connected to the PC (except when viewing present electricity usage on your PC).

Additional Sensors

If you have a dual meter (e.g Economy 7) or 3 phase installation you will need extra sensors. available here : standard sensors for the Owl Wireless Electricity Monitor.

Standard sensors are suitable for cables with an outside (insulated) diameter of 10mm. If your cables are larger than this (normally only in offices and commercial properties) you will need a heavy duty sensor for the Owl.

There is no additional delivery charge if you order additional sensors at the same time as an Owl Wireless Energy Monitor.

Advanced settings

The Owl comes with default UK settings so that you can very quickly get up and running. If you want to use the Owl outside of the UK or want to change the tariff prices to match your supply this is easy to do by scrolling through a menu using the function buttons. You can :

Programme upto 4 tariffs (£/kWh & times)
Set alarm (turn alarm on/off and set a max. £/ hour over which alarm sounds)
Choose generic country (UK,AUS,NZ,EURO,SA)
Set currency (£,$,euro)
Set voltage (230, 240, 250, 110, 120, 220V)
Choose Metric/Imperial units for GHG & temperature
Choose from 3 wireless channels
Set Utility Related Factor for calculating the kg GHG from kWh

Historical data

Historical data is stored by the display unit and you can compare today's data with yesterday's data (also compare this week/last week, this month/last month, this year/last year). This comparison will help you identify and measure the benefit of changes in your electrcity use.

More detailed historical data can be viewed on your PC using the software and USB cable supplied.
