Charge controllers are required within a battery charging system to manage battery charging and prevent overcharging.

This range of solar charge controllers offers :

• Battery reverse feed protection
• Overload protection
• Battery open circuit protection
• Lightning surge protection
• Deep discharge protection
• Charge current protection up to 4A

All solar panels within the Solar Technology range (except the 5w & 10W in some circumstances) require a voltage regulator to ensure that the battery is not overcharged.

What size Solar Charge Controller do I need?

Solar Technology recommend the following :

• 4A Charge Controller for the 18w, 28w. 43w and 60w panels
• 8A Charge Controller for the 80w and 120w panels.
• 12A Charge Controller for the 150w panel and installations up to 180watts.
• 20A Charge Controller for installations up to 320watts.
• 30A Charge Controller for installations up to 480watts.
