This is a subject close to my heart as I think it is good for us on all sorts of levels to grow our own food.Why not have a go at growing some of your own food this year? Growing a few veggies doesn't need a lot of space and can be very rewarding. You get the satisfaction of knowing exactly where your food came from and knowing that it is the result of your own endeavour. Home grown food always tastes better too. It's simple and inexpensive to get started but if you need a bit of an incentive, visit the BBC's Dig In website where you can apply for a free dig in pack containing 5 easy to grow veg varieties which come with full instructions and stickers. There are also animated guides and top tips at the BBC Dig In site. A great way to get kids to connect with food and where it comes from. As yet I haven't had time to do any gardening this spring, but rest assures as soon as a weekend coincides with some decent weather I will be out there getting ready for a bit of spring planting. I love veggies out of the garden and urge all of you to have a go. It's very easy as plants are programmed to grow so generally that's what they do! It's a great time of year to get out in the garden and the longer daylight hours and better weather mean that solar garden lights will start working better and be of use as you potter about at dusk. Whether you are looking to extend your gardening time in the evening, make the night time garden a little magical or need to light a shed, greenhouse or garage we have got a good range of solar powered garden lights that will help.
