Condensing Boilers

 

What is a condensing boiler?

Condensing boilers are modern and highly efficient, converting over 90% of the fuel they burn into heat. This compares to about 60% achieved by a typical conventional boiler.

They achieve the extra efficiency by extracting latent heat present in the flue gases which results in the production of a small amount of condensate which needs to be drained away.

How much can I save?

If you were to change a 10 to 15 year old conventional boiler for a new condensing boiler with a programmer, room thermostat, thermostatic radiator valves and a hot water cylinder thermostat you would save in the region of £100 to £130 on your heating bills.

This would also reduce your carbon emissions by approximately 800kg per year.
