About Us

What's with the name?

Ecofreak!? Don't be alarmed we are not a bunch of freaks, or at least I don't think we are, but then again - oh dear …... maybe I am just in denial!

Ecofreak is clearly not the most conventional of business names, but then in the end we chose it because it is a bit unusual. In this crazy world of commercialism and competition we need a name that stands out from the crowd.

Who 'we' are

Don't worry, as I said, we are not beard touting, sandal wearing, hessian sack clad eco freaks (with apologies to all bearded, sandal wearing, hessian sack clad readers - and yes, you're right there is absolutely nothing wrong with it), indeed be assured that (despite what you may have heard) we really are quite normal.

To be perfectly honest 'we' at the moment is mostly just 'me', William Musson, it's just that 'we' sounds so much more substantial!

From green fields to green shop - William in a field of wheat.

What about me then? Well, I'm a farmer's son, husband and father of two. My background is predominantly in agriculture but I have always had a strong interest in the environment and renewable technologies. I was looking for a new business venture and this seemed to tick all of the right boxes.

I have strong practical skills gleaned from years of hitting tractors with large hammers, and these obviously transfer easily to intricate electronic devices such as solar panels! Still, learning is the fun bit, it's a challenge and I want to do my bit for the environment as well.

What we do

The online shop aims to provide eco friendly products that are practical, useful and fun. We are particularly interested in energy saving and water saving products and these are where we are focusing for a start. We want to raise people's awareness of the great products that are available that can not only make our lives better but also help the environment a little as well.

All of the products sold by Ecofreak are intended to be easy to use and install, however, if you need any guidance or advice please get in touch - we are here to help.

If you are thinking a little bigger and maybe want to install a renewable energy system or rainwater harvesting system then don't be dismayed as in many cases we can supply these as well. We don't believe that bigger systems lend themselves to being sold in the online shop as they inevitably require a certain amount of planning and support, so, if you are interested, please have look at our 'Thinking Bigger?' page and get in touch with us directly.

Why we do it

We recognise that many people want to do their bit for the environment but don't really know where to start. We have done lots of research and tried to bring together a collection of great products to help you reduce your footprint on this earth with minimal hassle and expense.

We believe that if we all make some small changes to reduce our impact on the environment that the cumulative effect will be worthwhile. In addition, by increasing the awareness and use of eco friendly products, we hope that their cost will come down and their popularity will grow.

Why buy from us?

We will do all we can to ensure that you are delighted with both our products and our service, so go on - have a good look around, it's potentially a win, win, win situation - you win, the planet wins, oh and we win too!
