About UsWhat's with the name? Ecofreak!? Don't be alarmed we are not a bunch of freaks, or at least I don't think we are, but then again - oh dear …... Ecofreak is clearly not the most conventional of names for a website. We like it because it stands out from the crowd. It may be unusual but it certainly doesn't mean we are ecofreaks! Neither does it mean that you are, or should be, an ecofreak. It's more to do with an eco extravaganza - ecofreak! Well we are certainly not beard touting, sandal wearing, hessian sack clad ecofreaks (with apologies to all bearded, sandal wearing, hessian sack clad readers - and yes, you're right, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it!). We are actually very normal but very keen to provide excellent products and service to our customers. To be perfectly honest, 'we' at the moment is mostly just 'me', Bill Musson, it's just that 'we' sounds so much more substantial! Here I am in a field of wheat with a solar panel and and a lightbulb! What about me then? Well, my background is predominantly in agriculture but I have a strong interest in the environment and renewable technologies. I was looking for a new business venture and, as it seemed to tick all of the right boxes, www.ecofreak.co.uk was born in March 2007. Ecofreak is now a well stocked progressive online shop and I have gained a wealth of experience from designing and supplying bespoke solar and wind power systems for a diverse range of mains free applications. What's Ecofreak all about? The online shop aims to provide eco friendly products that are practical, useful and fun. We specialise in Energy Monitors for keeping an eye on your electricity use and also energy saving products that will help you reduce your utility bills. We also have some water saving products and aim to increase this range as we go. We've got a great range of eco-friendly and solar powered products. We want to raise your awareness of what's available to help you reduce your energy use. It's a no brainer. Saving energy will save you money and also help the environment as well. All of the products sold by Ecofreak are intended to be easy to use and install, however, if you need any guidance or advice at all please get in touch - we are here to help! Mains Free Power In addition to the products in the online shop we also design a supply bespoke renewable energy systems typically (but not exclusively) for "off-grid" applications. We supply a full range solar photovoltaic panels, wind chargers and balance of system components (many not available on this website so please contact us with your requirements). If you need clean, dependable, silent power somewhere with no mains supply please get in touch for friendly help and advice based on experience. Past projects include sign lighting, stables, farm buildings, leisure facilities, beach huts etc etc. Marine Solar and Wind Power We also supply a complete range of marine solar panels and Rutland windchargers ideal for battery charging duties on yachts, narrow boats and all pleasure craft. Why shop at Ecofreak? We recognise that many people want to do their bit for the environment but don't really know where to start. We do lots of research to bring together a collection of great products to help you reduce your footprint on this earth with minimal hassle and expense. We believe that if we all make some small changes to reduce our impact on the environment that the cumulative effect will be worthwhile. In addition, by increasing the awareness and use of eco friendly products, we hope that their popularity will grow. Great service! We will do all we can to ensure that you are delighted with both our products and our service, so go on - please have a good look around. |
